More Than Two Dozen Dead in Iraq Bombings

March 17, 2013

(BAGHDAD, Iraq) -- Iraqi police say more than two dozen people were killed in coordinated bombings that targeted a government building in downtown Baghdad.

More than 50 others were wounded in the bombings.

The attacks occurred less than a mile from Baghdad's Green Zone, home to many of the country's foreign embassy buildings.

While no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, officials say it was reminiscent of a previous bombing carried out by al Qaeda in Iraq.
