This morning, we would like to continue our theme from two week agp on finding the right match for different kinds of dogs. One of the types of dogs that sometimes get over looked at the shelter are the hounds who, as we say, like to bugle. While hounds may be on the noisier side in certain circumstances, they are often dogs that have a lovely mix of energy, being active and playful outdoors, but having a nice off switch so they can calmly curl up on a comfy bed indoors. Our adoptable pet of the week, Maggie, is a perfect example of this. She is an absolutely gorgeous three-year-old coonhound mix. She is universally friendly with people, and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has a moderate energy level, and is easily exercised by throwing the ball around for her to chase. While Maggie’s occasional vocalizations make her a bad candidate for apartment or condo living, she would make a fabulous family pet for a home with just a little bit of land around it. If you’d like to learn more about Maggie, visit us online at CTHumane.org or in person at 455 Post Rd. E. in Westport.
